Veteran's Day Activities - 2007

Several members attended assemblies at Mayfield and Round Elementary Schools.  The following pictures were taken at G. C. Round Elementary.

We distributed buddy Poppies at Wellington Giant on Saturday and at Liberia Avenue Wal-Mart on Sunday.  We received very generous donations and were able to deposit over $1100.00 into our Relief Fund.  This also included donations from our poppy display at Virginia Barbeque provided through the generosity of VFW life member and owner John Singeltary.  In addition to donations, we recruited four new members.

Commander Steve Meade, Trustee Joe Dazzo, Chaplain Ron Knowles and Quartermaster Rick Raskin were among those who attended a Memorial Day Ceremony at American Legion Post 10.  The Ceremony commenced at the eleventh hour of the eveventh day of the eleventh month.

Monday, members of VFW Post 7589 and the Ladies Auxiliary performed a wreath laying ceremony at the Manassas Veteran's Memorial and flag placement at the Manassas Cemetery.  Each year Post 7589 performs this ceremony on Memorial Day and Veteran's Day.
